Smriti Irani gave a powerful speech on the Rohith Vemula’s suicide and the JNU row and took over the opposition. The influencing speech by Smriti Irani is a pat on the face of the people who try to get benefits even out of the sorrowful incidents (even the death of a student) by giving it a political spin.

She said completely against the people who being in India tend to infuse religions and politics into the moldable minds of the youths on India. She spoke against the people who dislike state and supreme court but plea for their bails under the same judiciary system itself.

She also spoke about Kanhaiya Kumar and other students who were involved in anti-national activities inside the campus of JNU. Getting emotional over the suicide of dalit student Rohith Vemula of Hyderabad University, she said that here ministry was not responsible for his step and that he had himself wrote in his suicide note that nobody was responsible for his action.

She also told that she was being targeted by Congress party members time and again for contesting against Rahul Gandhi in Amethi Parliamentary constituency. She said, “I will not seek forgiveness for doing my duty … you (Congress members) never wanted to listen to my reply.” While she was speaking, many of the congress party members Left parties and Trinamool Congress protested against her.

Smriti Irani also said that during her last 20 months as minister, she tried to solve all the problems that she came across without caring about the students’ caste or religion.

Rejecting all her charges, she said that if any of the charges would be established and if she would be proved guilty, then she would quit politics.
