At first, most patients are concerned whether the high-intensity workout program will be suitable, and which one will benefit them the most. Nonetheless, doctors do their best  to assure they stay calm, and that everything will be okay in the end. Doctors argue that the health benefits of doing a high-intensity workout far outweigh the risks involved.

According to one study on high-intensity training for cardiac patients, high-intensity exercises may actually be better than moderate intensity exercises. The primary reason for this being that high-intensity workouts results in, on average, double the cardiovascular fitness of moderate intensity training.

Even though high-intensity training has been tried and tested with great success on people with heart conditions, it was previously hugely ignored. The idea of HIIT (High-Intensity Interval Training)  later spread to fitness enthusiasts and rehab centres. Most exercise enthusiasts – even those with no underlying heart conditions – opt for short, high-intensity activities as a means of reaping the benefits of working out within a short time frame.

The idea of HIIT differs greatly from the expert advice that people should target at least 150 minutes on  average of exercise per week. In most cases, people lack the time or motivation to lose their extra weight. However, , research is still very much underway.

For patients with underlying heart conditions, it is essential that they  meet with a heart disease expert to discuss their targets and doubts. This will also help to come up with a personalized training  schedule.

Ultimately though, the advantages of exercise for the treatment of cardiac issues may still be controlled by how easy it is to access appropriate medical guidance .
