Ringing Bells To Refund Freedom 251 Payments
Ringing Bells has today announced a ‘cash on delivery’ payment option. Freedom 251 buyers won’t have to provide card details, and will only have to pay when the smartphone reaches their doorsteps. As per new report, Noida Based startup Ringing Bells is going to refunding the payments that it had accepted on the first pre-booking date.
The makers of the world’s cheapest smartphone stated that it had accepted payments from the first 30,000 orders, after which their website had crashed. According to a report, MD Mohit Goel, Ringing Bells’ MD claimed that the company has refunded the money of all 30,000 customers and said that the company will accept cash on delivery only.

It recently revealed that over seven crore had registered to buy the phone, but only 50 lakh handsets will be sold — 25 lakh online and 25 lakh via offline channels.As the name suggests, a customer will only need to pay for the handset when it arrives at their doorsteps. The company didn’t have cash on delivery option on its first phase of booking on January 18. The company stated that it had accepted payments from the first 30,000 orders. After these their website had crashed.
Ringing Bells president Ashok Chadha said, “The company has decided that we will, henceforth, offer ‘cash on delivery’ mode of payments for those who have placed an order for the ‘Freedom 251‘ smartphone. This will ensure further transparency and clear any misgivings.”
