Ringing Bells will launch India’s most affordable smartphone called Freedom 251 for a price of Rs 251 today. The launch is in line with Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s vision for “empowering India to the last person, transforming India’s growth story”, the Noida-based company said. “The phone will be popularly priced at under Rs 500…this event and launch stands as a true testimony of success of the latest initiatives taken by the Government of India,” according to a media invite sent by the firm.
Talking about display specifications it offers a 4-inch WVGA resolution display. The affordable smartphone features a 1.3 Ghz quad-core processor, 1GB RAM, 8GB total storage. In term of camera specifications it offers a 3.2 megapixel camera on the back and it will have 0.3 megapixel cameras on the front and has a 1450 mAh battery. It is a dual- SIM 3G capable phone. If you want to book this cheapest smartphone then booking will start from Thursday 18 February from 6.00 am in the morning and will close on 21 February at 8.00 pm.
Ringing Bells had launched one of India’s cheapest 4G smartphone at Rs 2,999, recently. The new entrant in the Indian mobile phone market has launched two other feature phones in the market. Ringing Bells is a domestic smartphone manufacturer Noida Based Company. DataWind had announced that it is teaming up with Anil Ambani-owned Reliance Communications (RCOM) to launch the world’s most affordable smartphone, priced at Rs 999. But phone is yet to hit the market.
