Kapil Sharma Trying To Re-Create Comedy Nights with Kapil with Similar Characters on Different Channel
Kapil Sharma is in legal dilemma now-a-days. He and his production team want to have the same characters on his new show that can be showed on Sony Entertainment Network. Kapil and team want to have old characters of Dadi, Gutthi, Palak and the other popular characters on the new show back on his new show but he is facing breaching on Colors’ copyright.
The tension about the characters struck them after actors Sunil Grover and Ali Asgar had to face a legal notice by Colors for an upcoming event in which they were planning to perform as Gutthi and Dadi that prohibited them from performing as Gutthi and Dadi for a stage show. Sunil Grover as Gutthi, Ali Asgar as Dadi and Kiku Sharda as Palak, have won the hearts of people, but the sad part of the story is that Kapil doesn’t have the right to own these characters.
A close source said, “Kapil’s team can’t have the same characters because Colors owns the rights to the original show on television. The team is taking legal advice to bring back the original characters in avatars that won’t amount to a breach of contract with Colors. Viewers want to see the same characters again. So they have to make sure viewers don’t feel cheated. At the same time, the truth is that the same characters can’t be relocated to Sony. They have to be re-created.”
Kapil and team have shortlisted some names for their new show and they are now confused about choosing the right name for their show. A source said, “We’ve 10-15 title options. The name ‘Kapil’ will definitely be part of the new show’s title.”
We wish to see Kapil soon on TV with his new show but the old characters and the old magic that used to spread with the name of the show.
